2007 Bluetec DPF and Limp Mode
In spite of the badge, my 2007 OM642 Bluetec is actually a CDI. No DEF fluid needed. After a oil cooler seal change, I found my DPF filter was throwing the P242F code. Driving at 2000-3000 rpm didn't clear the DPF and its code, but put the car into limp mode.
On YouTube I saw a mechanic put foaming cleaner into the DPF via the sensor hose and would like to give that a try.
I see where the sensor is located on later OM642 W211's, but it's somewhere else on my 2007.
Anyone know where it's located?

I can't imagine any chemical harsh enough to clean out a coked up DPF that wouldn't also eat through the metal housing, gloves and your skin.. If you've ever opened one of these things up after they're clogged, it's like a kiln with years of multi-layered baked on carbon. There are industrial dpf cleaning machines that are usually intended for commercial vehicles, like busses. If you do find a magic solution to restore your DPF to working function by simply using a foam injected into a port while the DPF is still mounted, it would be a game changer.
I say this as someone who's OM642 clogged up at 140K and I ended up just deleting it. I have a new diesel pickup, and if there's no delete by the time the emissions/drivetrain is no longer under warranty, I'll be selling that one.
