High fuel consumption on E280
Hi
I've noticed that the fuel consumption of my W211 E280 is high around town. Like up to 15L/100km fuel consumption. I'm thinking that it could be the E10 fuel that I use. A mechanic friend suggested I try running it on 95 octane fuel and see if things improve.
Has anyone had this problem before? Car has done nearly 120000km and is serviced regularly. I had the inlet manifold replaced back in November 2023 and all camshaft sensors replaced.

Your mechanic's suggestion is the right one. Higher octane fuel provides better economy. Do you have a scan tool? You should check the Fuel Trim measurements with E10 and then again with 95. I bet they'll show a difference if it's just the fuel quality that's your problem
