I've noticed that my front roof rail seals are perished / broken in the middle / lifting away. I understand however, these parts have been discontinued so I am curious as to what the options are?

Also, are these seals cosmetic or likely to let water ingress?

Curious to hear if there are any creative fixes here too. Supposedly the strips just pry off but I haven't got around to trying yet just because there hasn't been any other issue to arise from it and I don't plan on ever using them but I would like to fix and maybe either recoat or strip all the clear coat that is peeling so it looks more uniform.
