Block heater - frost plug location
'03 E320 apparently has block heater installed at factory. Manual suggests have dealer attach power cord. Is the cord already supplied, attached and secured somewhere under the engine? Anyone advise where to find it? Thanx!

I would only use it if it is already there, but I find that the E320 warms up very fast and start putting out warm air out of the heater very quickly. I usually park it in the garage, but it sleeps outside when I go to the mountains and it gets very cold there (-10 to 0 Fahrenheit and in the -20 Celsius). I never have any issues.
However, if I lived out there all winter, I would be looking for a block heater.

I am in Canada and would like to know where it is, if it is there... Funny thing is most people in Canada live in an area that is more southern then a lot of States.

the M112 and M113 engines (found in E320, E500, and E55) have the plug for the block heater located under the intake manifold. in the valley between the two cylinder banks.
