2008 e350 siren
Was told that I needed to replace the siren by a dealer. Don't think that they used the MB diag tool. Think that they thought it was drawing power.
Siren is a over designed thing that has 2 rechargable batteries sodereed onto a circuit board inside it's shell. Had the dealer install a new one.
Now, it intermittely sounds teh siren for no reason. It does not matter if the door is locked or not, happens independantly of the the doors being locked.
Was told that the sirens pop off randomly when teh internal batteries hit end of life.
Dealer can't tell me how long the new part sat on a shelf. Suspect that it sat so long that the batteried hit end of life.
Suggestions ?
Car is telling all my neighbors not to buy a mercades. It's popping off at night. Has does it at daytime too.
Does the MB diag tool keep sensor history ?
Does teh MB diag tool test the siren's internal battery state ?
Do not suspect that the shop guys know how to use the diag tool. ( Prefer not to go there at teh moment)
Is there a diag tool that I could get that could read the sensor histories that feed teh siren processing ?
Is tehre a fuse that I can pull that would shut the thing off?
Thanks,
JIm

Fuse 8, rear fuse box in trunk. Three items are on that fuse so you may want to just remove the alarm siren.

Theres two so not sure which one applies to you. https://charm.li/Mercedes%20Benz/200...oubleshooting/
Heres where I was looking. Accessories and Optional Equipment > Antitheft and Alarm Systems: https://charm.li/Mercedes%20Benz/200...d%20Diagnosis/
Am reading the links that others have suggested.
Thanks,
Jim

I think you may have a faulty sensor that is randomly being triggered. I cant see if you said you scanned the car for any faults or maybe see if tells you which specific sensor was triggered?
