Smartkey Question?
So here's my question. If i go for the Smartkey option with the starter button on the shifter knob. Here's the question.
Let's say I got in the car and pushed the button to start it. So i fire it up and then decided I forgot something. I get out of the car from what I understand the car will lock as soon as I walk away.
2nd will the car stay runing or will it shut down. I leave my car idling a lot especially my diesels so it's important for it to keep running.
Any idea what it will do? Those that have it can you try it and see if it stays running?

Car will keep running but doors will not auto-lock.
In my experience, I have walked away from my car and it kept running.
It has not locked itself though.
The car can be driven without the key inside once started.

I have no experience with Keyless Go, but I'm almost positive the car will stay running if you walk away. Keyless Go isnt capable, and has no reason,to start the engine when you walk up to the car and unlock it, so I doubt it will turn it off if you walk away from it and lock it. It would be odd if it did do this, but other people who have Keyless Go do try it...

There is a post wayyyy back of where a guy was with his wife in the car, she got out and went into the mall (she had the key) and he kept driving. His car died 15 min later in front of a Mercedes dealership (he didn't have a key).
