Unhappy HELP! 2006 E55 No start situation

So.....there I was driving like normal when all of a sudden my supercharger goes out. The car went into limp mode where it didn't have any power at all so I drove it slowly to my driveway which was about a mile an a half away. After looking at it closely, it looked like the pulley was making contact with the magnetic clutch which (from my understanding) puts the car in limp mode to avoid damaging the engine. It's strange because it was driving fine so what would make it make contact like that? So....I pulled it off and checked the bearing. It was't really smooth and had a bit of resistance so I went ahead and replaced it. I also ordered new shims to try to set it but here's where the issue is. For one, the pulley isn't flush. When placed onto the "snout" (I saw someone on a video call it that). So the pulley would have a small gap on one side and a larger gap on the other side. That's one problem. The second problem is the shimming. Well, I guess I should take car of that first problem first BUT when I install the pulley and try to crank the car it will shutter and shake for a few seconds and turn right off. For some reason, it seems to not be firing right or something and there's a strong odor of fuel or exhaust. I also check the gap after it tries to crank and the gap is way smaller (below .35mm) between the pulley and magentic clutch. I played with the gap a bit more but nothing changes. So I'm wondering.....besides the uneven pulley, could I possibly have a bad magnetic clutch OR is it possible that the CPS went out? (which seems to be a common problem on these models). Would it throw a check engine light or come up on a scan? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really want it back on the road.

if the car went into limp mode, there should be some code stored so get the car scanned as a good starting point!
the pulley situation could just be a secondary issue to a main issue you're not seeing.

None of the above has anything to do with why your car will not start/run. If the supercharger "goes out" that does not put the car into limp mode.
Slightly uneven gap on the supercharger clutch is to be expected. I have yet to find a perfect gap around the circumference.
Put a proper diagnostic system on it and pull the codes.

Supercharger failing to engage could easily be the Intake Air Sensor or the Manifold Air Pressure sensor failing or the connector/connection failing. Engine not starting/running could be either of the two previous sensors. BTW, the MAP sensor is a PITA to get to while the supercharger is mounted on the car.
Again, pull the codes. And, while you are at it, put a fuel pressure gauge on the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and ensure you are seeing ~75psi. If not, could be the fuel pump relay is failing/failed.
