Service B for Three Days
I brought my car in for service at the dealership (Bobby Rahal, Wexford, PA) for service B and to fix a broken cup holder... Would you believe that it would have taken three days. The first day they didn't get to it (after calling me and telling me I didn't need service - despite the 22,000 miles and service indicator statement that said I needed service), the second day they got to most of it but needed the cup holder part. They told me at 5:30 PM when I called them to check-in (I never received a call from them) that they needed it for a third day. I couldn't wait another day so I said give it back or give me a Mercedes loaner. They gave it back and asked to reschedule. CRAZY!!!

Sounds like a talk with the GM or Service Director is in order. Also, why wasn’t a loaner automatically given from the get go?

Things are better elsewhere. My B service at 20,300 miles: In at 8 am with an appointment made only 2 days prior, they gave me a car to get breakfast and run a couple errands although I offered to sit in the guest area, ready when I returned at 11 am. You need to make a change.

I agree that you should find a new dealer for service. BTW my service advisor told me that it's always better to bring your vehicle in for service at the begining of the month rather than the end when they are cramming everything in to make their numbers. Try it!

This is funny because I went through something similar at a local dealer. This dealer, despite only giving Toyotas and NOT mercedes loaners, still needs like 3 weeks advance notice for a loaner to be guanranteed...
In any case..
I make the appointment for my first service..i show up and ask them to also check my car veering right, to see if they could change the chime from ringing constantly, program my folding mirrors. I understand that this wasnt part of the plan..but, the programming things should take no more than 30 minutes and the car veering right is a warranty issue. At Lexus, this was never a problem...
Well for this dealer it was..apparently he couldnt do it, and that they only alot 4 hours for the service and this and that..meanwhile the guy who took my car in told me the service usually takes only 2.5 hours! and the other hour and half?
Needless to say he wanted to reschedule for EVERYTHING else...he wouldnt even care to check the alignment.
I bring the car in for service at the second appointment that was made...and they never get to it. I go and demand my car back t the end of the day, and they tell me they did nothing to it. So i got up and made an appointment within a week at another local dealer and they did everything, without a hassle. Then the service rep calls me looking for me and even calls my father (who has NOTHING to do with this) to try to explain.
It goes to show bad service is not inherent to mercedes, but only to some dealers that give the good ones a bad rep. You have the power of choice. Choose to bring your car elsewhere.
