Fixed at last

So I've owned my W211 for 2 months now (bought October 2004). And it's spent a month of its new life in the workshop, getting defect after defect rectified, including:

1. Air-conditioning kept turning itself off automatically - changed regulator module.

2. Musty smell from the air-conditioning when it's turned on the first time in the mornings - changed the evaporator module.

3. High pitched whine from the brakes - changed the SBC module, re-wired the system and changed the instrument cluster: miraculously, the whine is GONE! This was our biggest complaint - I'm exquisitely sensitive to high frequencies, and I was getting headaches from driving the car.

4. Factory paint defect (small scratches underneath the clear coat) - resprayed the whole car.

5. Both passenger and driver seat headrests rattled - changed the headrests. Those babies are rock-solid now. Not a peep even at high speeds.

6. Rattling at the passenger side air-conditioning vent - the workshop guys removed the entire dashboard and tightened the vent screws. Rattling's gone!

7. Parktronic gone haywire (after some moron rear-ended me 2 weeks into my new car experience) - changed the Parktronic.

The dealer even balanced my new wheels (I upgraded to Avantgarde spec rims) for free...

But I politely declined on the inhouse car-wash offer

So, I'm back to being a happy little larrakin again... at least until the repairs break down, or the same damn MB faults resurface!

That's good to hear. Glad all worked out fine in the end. I wish all of the problems some people have could be solved just as it was with your case.
