W211 Front Core Support Alignment - Grille and Bumper fitment issues
Hi everyone, I recently replaced the entire front core support (radiator support) on my W211 after a front-end collision. I used a new support and a replacement aluminum impact bar (bumper reinforcement).
The problem is that the entire assembly seems to be misaligned. The grille is shifted to the right – it touches the bumper on the passenger side, but has a large gap on the driver's side. The hood latches also look slightly tilted.
I suspect the core support was bolted down without being properly centered. Since it’s a multi-piece assembly, where is the best place to start the adjustment? Should I loosen the bolts at the frame rails (horns) and shift the whole unit, or is there a specific sequence to follow to get the gaps perfect?
Any advice on how to square the front end properly would be appreciated!
