hi all, i have an E240 Avantgarde with digital climate control but no COMAND. had the car for a year now. its begun developing a weird rattle which is very apparent during idle, although it usually -- not always -- disappears when i start moving off. the frequency of rattling is quite high, and it appears to come from the centre console. in some cases pressing on the aircon assembly above the dashboard (the slats above the air vents) stops the rattle periodically, but it doesn't always work, so i'm not sure if it's actually connected.

any idea what might be the cause of this? it's nothing serious but is quite annoying, and there are no fully qualified merc dealers in this area to sort out the problem. thanks all in advance!
