Leather/Dash Cleaner for red wine
I posted this in the detail section but thought I'd get some responses here who doesn't frequent that section:

Do you have any recommendations for leather and dash (plastic) cleaner. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I'd give the folks at Leatherique a call. They are very helpful on the phone and have good products. www.leatherique.com (877)395-3366

Personally, I'd press charges. This is criminal vandalism, pure and simple. That doesn't help the leather, but it would probably lessen the likelihood of a reoccurance.

I have never tried this on a car, but maybe using some dissolved Oxyclean solution would help this. I have used Oxyclean powder dissolved in water (making it a paste) on other things. It never has bleached the color, but it sure works well on organic stains.
I will not get into the other issue here (the 36 year old person that did this
).
This is just a suggestion,
Steve

Thanks guys for the info. I use Leatherique on my vehicles but not sure if their Prestine Cleaner is strong enough on wine....especially "red" wine. I did call them and they advised if the red wine has soaked through the fibers of the leather, it maybe too late. I'll also advise him about oxyclean. The kicker is this C6 was sent to Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (if you know Vettes, it's the Brabus of the Vette World) to put in a stroker motor that is pumping out 500HP naturally aspirated. His main concern is the dye on the leather if the product is too harsh. If anyone else have had success in leather cleaner products, please let me know.
Don't want to get too into it too much but the son is 36 and has been smooching from his dad's money all his life (never really carried a job). He got PO'ed yesterday at his dad when he was visited his dad's house and the incident happened. I think it's a safe bet that the dad is cutting all his funds now. :p

Once you use something harsh on the leather ,the surface clearcoat over the dye color can be removed and or compromised. Since Dad has lots of $$$ I'd say get new seat covers from GM and replace the plastic that's been ruined. I'm surprised they did not wait for the new 500/500 Z06, oh well.

I actually like red/black interior on a sports car.
Well....his dealer is going to try to replace the leather and carpet under warranty. If not, he's going to go with a custom interior (I recommended Caravaggio). The motor is a LPE 427 CDI Stroker that was installed before the specs of the Z06 was introduced. Talking to my buddy, this guy has a C6 Vert on order and once the Z06 comes out, must likely going to get one too. Must be nice to be super rich.
