SRS problem

I OWN A 2003 MERCEDES S500. AFTER MY DELCO BATTERY GOT TOTALY DRAINED ( FROM NOT STARTING MY CAR, FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS ) I REPLACED IT WITH A BRAND NEW ONE YESTERDAY. AFTER STARTING MY CAR, THE ' SRS RESTRAINTS WARNING ' APPEARED ON MY CONSOLE. I READ SOME MERCEDES FORUMS, AND SOME OF THE REASONINGS RANGED FROM,
AS SIMPLE AS HAVING A MERCEDES TECH RE-SETTING THE ERROR CODE(S), TO REPLACING A
FAULTY WIRE, WHICH CONNECTS THE AIRBAG SENSOR TO THE IGNITION, TO REPLACING THE SRS MODULE, TO REPLACING THE CLOCK SPRING.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK ???

I've got an S 320 cdi and the srs light has just come on , is it just an electronic cliche or something I should be worried about , and should it be expensive to fix ?

You cannot assume that there would be a fixed price for each fault that lights up an indicator at the dash. You have to have the fault codes read to figure out where the issue is.

If you asked this at the W220 forum, they might know typical SRS issues for your car.

A pity this had not been answered when the question was posted. Perhaps we made the forum member sell the car and leave the forum.

Too often people who deserve help are too shy to insist help and will not post a reminder. Not fair when some post at many places simultaneously and cannot accept an hour delay for replies... Perhaps everyone had their ears hurting from the previous post.

So I had the dreadful SRS errors for months. At the last service B, I asked my dealer to look into. The diagnostic came back with a bad belt buckle. No part on-site so it had to be ordered. I offered to leave the car overnight but my SA can't promise when the part will get in.
Part arrived 10days later but I wasn't able to bring it in for head gasket replacements.
Anyway, my OBDII arrived and it shows error with high readings on the driver side. I cleared it and SRS error went away and haven't come back. Should it not went away for code 9183?

Known problem documented by attached bulletin. Intermittent due to faulty connectors. If vehicle was purchased from and regularly serviced by MB dealer have service manager contact MB to approve goodwill assistance towards repair. BTW you should be posting here: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w220-16/

Thank you very much for the info. I posted in both forum and looked like I got better luck here. Thanks again.
