'03 E 320 Still Pulling to the right

Hi Guys,
It has been awhile since I last posted.. Anyways, I need help. My 03 seems to still pull to the right and I need a copy of a work order that shows what needs to be done to correct it. I have taken it in 3 times and the fix seems to always be temporary. The last time, they rebalanced my wheels. Anyone have that old old old thread that had that work order? Thanks!

mine too

Konigstiger,
Could I get a copy also.
My car pulls right and is at the dealer right now.
I would love to walk in and provide them with this information to prevent repeat visits.

I will PM.

Dealer Says...

They added the bolt extension kit but it still pulls right a little and it may be "Radial Tire Pull" so he called it. He suggested that it may be my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. Now I'm going to call Michelin and Discount Tire to see what I can find out.

More later....

Some info for you guys with this problem. I have two 04 E320's that I bought new with the stock 16" wheels/tires. Both cars drove perfectly straight with zero pull to the right. I recently upgraded both cars to the OEM 17" sports wheels/tires that were takeoffs from other cars. Both of my cars now pull to the right.

This tells me that it is a function of the tires/wheels and NOT the front end settings.

Pull

Could be both. But my car didn't get any better with the bolt extensions and alignment change.

Car still pulls right.

I went to Discount Tire and they tried:
1. Rotating the right tires (front to back) then Test Drive, & pull got worse.

2. Rotate the left tires (front to back) then test drive & pull was back where we started.

3. They are now ordering me new Michelin Primacy tires because they are recommended by Mercedes. Michelin and Mercedes say the car should not use Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. The Sports are A-symmetrical and unidirectional. Discount Tire manager thinks that it has to do with the tread pattern.

Check the tires you have to see if they are recommended for your car by the tire manufacturer and Mercedes.

I have the Michelin Primacy on one car and the Continental Sport 2 on the other one. Both are the OEM tires that came with the cars that had the takeoff wheels.

Then, I would suggest having the dealer adjust camber and caster according to your new wheel size.

It's the tires!!

I just had the Michelin Pilot A/S's replaced with Michelin Primacy's and the right pull is GONE!

No question, 100%, it was the tires!

So today my left tire went flat. The MB guy that came out to change the tire said that all the tires were beginning to crack. I only have 28K miles but MB said they only warranty the tires to 5K. What a crock. But at least we get to test the aligment theory..TIRES or CAMBER??
