Has anyone across the pond driven the new 535d? (Diesel Engine, straight 6)
The numbers are impressive, 0-100km (62.5mph) in 6.1 sec, 6-speed auto trans, top speed 156 mph (250 km) and great fuel economy.
Off course, you get the "strange" new look of the car, but time has a way of ironing out the strangeness as everybody gets one.
IF BMW were to sell this car here, I would have to consider it, especially since I have an old (ancient) BMW diesel that has been bulletproof, and MB will soon offer only a V6 (no longer an I6).
What irks me is the engines ARE here, at least the single-turbo version, installed in the X5 in Greenville/Spartanburg SC. The diesel X5's are promptly loaded on a boat and deported, like an illegal alien, they are not certified to roam around here.
