SL 500 Wheels on a E Class???

Will SL 500 wheels fit on an E Class? Have a friend who is willing to give them to me but I am not sure if they will fit. I think they are too wide, but I could be wrong...

Must be nice I don't see why not, but it'll more clear if you can provide more info or picture of them.
It all depends on which pkg your friend has. I 've seen diff SL500 equipped with all 3 diff type of wheels.

It depends on the wheels. Which wheels are they?

Which wheels they are depends on what SL500 it is. What year is the SL500?

In most cases, you will need new tires to properly fit (assuming the wheels will fit).

Sorry guys, I guess that post was a bit vague.. OK well it is an 03 SL500. The rims are 18" and they have 255/40 in the front, and 285/40 on the back. I am sure that I will have to change the tires, but just wanted to know if the rims will fit. And what I mean by fit is, I dont know if the rim it's self is too wide, because I dont want the tire to stick out.

I have some pics, this is not actually his car, but these are pics of an 03 with the rims he has on it.

Well, As you stated, Def. will need a new set of tires for the E-class. MB wants 245-40-18 Front and 265-35-18 Rear. I personally like 275-35-18 for the Rear better.
Double check with NTB or Discount Tires for fitments, they have a guide book for OEM, but I don't think they can give you definate answer.
I ***THINK*** it'd perfectly fit on the E-class because it should be same offset and width as E55 AMG. My.02

You will need to change the tires. The offset of the rims is incorrect, but should work OK if you use skinny enough tires (245 front, 265 rear, as the E55 uses stock). Beyond that you will risk rubbing on the outside due to the low offset of the SL rims.

Smile thread reboot for 2024/25 - new asker, same question

Hello MWWorld citizens - reviving this thread asking for insight/advice.

I have a 2006 E500 4Matic (US Spec) with original rims for that model/year/car - now showing their age/mileage (!25k mi).
Am looking at purchasing rims from a 2005 SL500 - p/n is A2304010402 color/style no: B68474060
Any advice/inputs appreciated -

2005 SL500 rims in question will require new tires as ones in picture have dry rot...tires on 2006 E500 4Matic are fitted as shown in picture.
If they will swap I will migrate them, otherwise will plan on new tires as well.

Ths!!

Will these rims fit/clear lock-to-lock w/ no rubbing on 2006 E500 4Matic?
