Trunk height

Does anyone know the trunk interior height? I just ordered a e350 and am a avid mt. bike rider. I would love to be able to put it in the trunk (yes, I got the folding rear seats). The bars are 24". Thanks for the help.

17 3/4", more or less, assuming it hasn't changed between MY '03 and 'MY 05. That's with the woofer that comes with the HK audio. If the exact clearance is important, you might take your tape measure to your dealer's showroom.

Be careful, the floor rises as it gets close to the back seat. It shouldn't matter with a bike but it will with luggage.

MBLine,

I take the front wheel off of my bike so the handlebars are parallel to the floor. It should fit fine that way.

I have a Specialized SWorks Epic (medium) and it fits pretty easily in the trunk with both wheels off, without the seats folded. When folding one of the seats, you can get it in with the rear wheel on. With both seats folded you can get two MTB bikes in the back! I put the wheels in wheel bags and use them to seperate the bikes so they dont scratch each other.

I race road bikes, and with both seats folded down, you can get two road bikes and six wheels in the back, in addition to a weekend's worth of luggage! Pretty amazing.
