Real good read on future plans for Mercedes:
http://money.cnn.com/2009/07/08/news...tune/index.htm
Also mentioned sharing of parts between the C Class and the E Class to maximize economies of scale in production. Collaboration with BMW in purchasing also in the works.

Porsche Macan S SportDesign / Ex M-B's: 11 & 10 & 06 E350's, 02 S500
Sucks that M-B let themselves get to where they're at right now. Their desperation and parts sharing is a distinct showing that the M-B of the future is not going to be the same company of the past. I think in 10 or so years from now, the "fanciness" aspect of Mercedes-Benz, and the elitism of it will start giving way to a more conservatively durable, reliable, and economical scale. Good for them, but I just hope they don't start becoming "German-esque" Japanese cars if you know what I mean.
