2010 E550.. Gone but never forgotton - E63 AMG..
Pulled trigger on 2010 E550 !

08 E63 -With my lease up on Jan 2010.. I went to my local dealership to speak about possibly lowering the residual of $ 61,000, They explained that it was impossible and also that Mercedes would have to pay even more for the car $ 62,000. He explained that more than likely the car will end up in an auction.
61,000 + NYS tax = 66,337.50 total.. The dealer even told me not to buy it, He explained I can buy the same car much cheaper.

So im sitting there thinking and thinking and THINKING, and decided to walk around the show floor, A white E550 with pano and blk leather was on the floor. The car looked very striking and just so fresh. The lines of the car in person are far better than anything you will see on Internet pics. I actually said to my self, WOW this car is BADASS and has potential. I sat inside and was very impressed with the interior,especially the 3 spoke wheel, WoW, Best wheel ive seen on a Benz. So we sat and negotiated.

Ended up with what I think is a pretty good lease.

E550
P2 package
Pano roof
Partronic/ park assist
Deck lid spoiler

39 mo
12,000 miles
$ 4,800 down
$ 820 a month.

I got a corp discount and also the employee pricing discount from this part weekend.

What do you guys think ?

I pick up the car on the 30th when I have to sadly return my 63 <-- International Performance Engine of the year award for 2009. Damn Im gonna miss that wicked PWR but Im very happy with my soon to be new car.
How should I spend the last 2 weeks with the 63 ? I dont want to get too crazy and **** things up, you know ? ahah.

Thanks

Not a MB (yet...)
Coupe or Sedan?

I would love to see some pics of the color combo when you get it!

Any chance you can get others that corp discount and dealer pricing?

Thats going to suck loosing the 63! But think of how pampered you'll be in the new E! Much more comfortable IMO.

Is $820 after tax? Deal looks good for a brand new car. I hope to get the same E550 configuration in Aug next year for $650.

The financial institution that I work for has an affiliation with Mercedes Benz, All I had to do was show a copy of my pay stub to MB to prove my that I work for the company - The Corp discount takes a few grand off the MSRP.

Awesome car and color combo. Your also right about the steering wheel as it is one of the better 3 spokes I have seen on any car, much less a Benz. The 63 is a great car and of course it is hard to beat. However, the new E and the 550 motor are damn good and for what its worth, the fuel economy is probably 30% (or more) better. Looking forward to hear what you think of the new ride.

So was the $4800 just all upfront fees reg, taxes etc and no cap cost reduction? That is approx what the E350 lease is going for, last I spoke with the sales rep he was down to $799 with all fees up front that came to about $4800, no cap cost and $15,000 I think not 12.

So you got corp discount plus employee pricing? wow.

One last thing, what was the final price you negotiated on the car? Trying to figure out that in relation to your payments.

I think you probably should have kept the E63 and run out the lease. Because that isn't that great of a deal on the E550 and an 2008 E63 is a damn fine car. And you undoubtedly had to eat the remainder of the lease. It almost NEVER makes sense to leave a lease early unless you can sell it to a private party for what you owe - which is virtually impossible.

Also, you're buying into the first year of a new model. While the new E212 is sharp looking, I wouldn't get one until the 2011 or 2012 models are out - where they iron out all the inevitable bugs.

Nevertheless, this is a difference between two very nice things. So, at the end of the day - you won regardless.

If you get next aug let me know, I will also be in the market... but I highly doubt you will be able to.

I agree there will be no way the E550 will be $650 without a massive out of pocket up front. Maybe the E350 but even with the E350 you will have to put a nice chunk down for cap cost reduction or at the least all fees up front which is approx $4500-$5000 with no cap cost.

The best part is that I dont have to pay the remaining payments for the E63, Mercedes will eat the last 3 payments.. The deal was as long as I pick up another Benz,they would take care of the remaining payments on the returning car. I love the power of the 63 and enjoyed it for nearly two years but Im really liking the new E style and had to have it..
