Chestnut Brown leather?
Is anyone aware of a special order "Chestnut Brown" interior leather for the E-series? My dealer said it appears on his screen as an option, but there is no other info that he has on it.

Hmm.. I found a Canadian 2010 E-Class brochure that shows Chestnut Brown as an option ... http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/site/mb_..._e-BRO_ENG.pdf
It's on p. 29 of the brochure (p. 31 of the pdf). I'm not sure why that option doesn't appear in the US brochure?

Doubtful. In the past I heard rumors of people saying they know someone who knows someone that put in a special order and it went through. It's been all rumor for quite a while now. As mentioned above, there were two Designo options for the w211 and I'll assume those will show up in the future, if they aren't available already. Problem with Designo is the crazy price tag.

I went through the Sindelfingen factory tour when I picked up my vehicle this summer and someone asked about non-listed options. The answer given was that it's not possible on US spec vehicles.
OTOH, virtually anything can be special ordered on Euro spec vehicles; example, want a special paint tint? It can be done for 4500 €. That's about 6500 USD at the present exchange rate. But I'm actually surprised it can be done that "cheaply" considering the perturbations it must cause to the production line which kicks out a car every 30 seconds. Customized colors are painted by one dedicated robot, paint tank & line/nozzle flushing afterwards, doors taken back off after the painting (so there's no color variation) and married again with the car toward the end of the production line, etc.

A few weeks ago on the website of Mercedes-Benz of Boerne (a town just outside San Antonio, TX) an E350 with Cuperite Brown and Chestnut Leather interior was listed for sale with the ad saying the color was a "special order". Pictures were posted and it is a beautiful interior particularly with the brown wood trim. I just checked and the car is no longer listed so I assume it has sold. You might give them a call and ask how they obtained the car. Apparently it can be done with delivery to the US.

My dealer was able to modify the order to Chestnut Brown (special order). There is a $250 special order charge on my build summary, but that could be related to the heated steering wheel special order. Anyway, I am even more excited now!

Thats great, cross your fingers and hope it goes through lol. I attempted to get wood trim in my C sport when they first came out, I had the order code and everything, but it got rejected. Maybe because its an E class they have a little more room for customization. Although $250 sounds way too cheap for a special order.

Was this a launch edition interior?
I had a launch edition GL and the only indication in the dealer's ordering screen was "black nappa" As this interior was only available on the launch edition cars.
Just a thought.

Chestnut Brown available on USA 212
Chestnut Brown is indeed available on the US version of the 212 via the special order option for $250. Keep in mind, this color (on a worldwide basis) is only available in leather - not available in MB Tex. So you will have to order leather. For an E550, this is inluded as standard so less of an issue.

E350 Options
I tried to get Natural Beige leather seats but MB will not let you have that option with the burlwood wood trim, also wanted to have the the wood steering wheel but no can do with the sports package! What gives, why is MB so inflexible,if I am having the car built then why not with what I want in it??anyway I'm over it now, will pick-up my E350 in Germany next month, can't wait
