Picked up E350 today

P2
Sport Package
~ $57K sticker with selling price ~ $51K (sorry don't have exact numbers in front of me).
39 Month lease with 3K total out of pocket
740/month including 9.75% tax
This car is a replacement for wife's 2007 E350.
First impressions:
Car is definitely much nicer then previous E350 was, has more solid feel to it, better and more responsive steering, better road feel. Engine feels a bit underpowered compare to my daily driver E550 but has plenty of power for wife's driving style

Please feel free to ask questions - will do my best to answer objectively.

A 350 is considered powerful enough in Europe, and good for the environment (more of the limited oil reserves left for those who need bigger engines).
Seeing as to how you own both, there are certain areas and feelings a car gives you when you spend extensive wheel time behind them that can't be picked up by Magazine Editors, Test Drives, etc. I'd be curious to get a more in depth review about how you feel it differs in different quality, luxury, etc. aspects, and which out of your E550 and the new E you enjoy getting into and driving, etc. I understand you just got it so you can only give initial feelings, etc.
Thanks.

It will probably take me a few days to get a better feel for the car, but after a few miles driven I already miss Airmatic settings available on W211 (there is only Comfort and Sport setting available on W212).
What is really "interesting" is that the car will revert suspension settings to C every time you shut the engine down
I RTFMed and found out that this in not a configurable feature!Overall materials feel cheaper compared to W211 although the finish is pretty good - no rattles of any kind...
Standard 18" wheels look SMALL on the taller then W211 body, but since it's a wife's car I will not worry about the upgrade.
I will take pictures tomorrow and post them right away.

I RTFMed and found out that this in not a configurable feature! If I remember right, the cluster menu now stays at the previously selected one even after re-start, like on a W210 while the 204 and 221 always clear to the default menu. Odd if the tranny then does not stay at S, I have to admit I cannot remember this from the 212 and I'm not sure about the 221 either but I thought it does keep the S tranny program, might not stay at M, will have to try this later on.

Interesting as we have a discussion in another Thread about the quality difference between the two interiors. I for one think the materials and overall vibe in the 212 is a bit cheaper myself, but still a nice and strong interior.
I like the fact that you have both models currently, E's are good all-around cars. I'd LOVE to have my current E, a W212 E350 (or 550) to put all the miles on as I'd be enjoying all the latest Tech and Safety, and a W210 E55 AMG as the barbarous fun-car to drive around in.

Perhaps a tranny with S and C modes only behaves differently? I couldn't check this with the 204, neither with the 212 yet (these do not have the M-mode).
