How to replace side mirror bulbs?

I was trying to figure out how to replace the light bulb that is on side mirrors. I am particularly speaking of the convenience light that is on the bottom of the mirrors, not the signals. I don't want to do anything that might damage the mirrors. Help!!

I'm trying to replace the annoying yellow bulbs to LEDS to match the headlights and all other lights in my car. I've replaced all the interior, including the doors and trunk lights to LED.

What are your thoughts on the new lights' appearance? Does it make much of a difference (aesthetically / functionally)?

I was a little shocked that Mercedes didn't put LED's in the license plate lights on the trunk (like Lexus). It would look better with the rest of the LED light show going on in the back of these cars. I am planning on changing mine soon.

What is the purpose of these lights anyway? They do not turn on when you approach the car, so as to avoid stepping in puddles. That was the way they worked on my Lexus GS. In fact, I don't think they are working properly on my W212; can someone please explain when they should turn on, under what conditions? Thanks in advance.

how did you do the others? (Map Lights, Plate Lights, etc.) and what bulbs did you use (Our Grand Cherokee has a full swap from SuperBrightLEDs.com and so does our Mustang) I'm looking to do this on the E since it seems mixed and matched. LED Map lights, yet regular dome lights, i don't get it.

they turn on when you open your car from a remote, but you need to enable the localization function in your "convenience" menu.

Most bulbs are wedges except for the rear cabin light. It uses a 44mm festoon. I used all SMD led as they are smaller and brighter than other leds. I used the (1) in the vanity mirrors (required a little modding or u can go with shorter one but I wanted the longer ones cause they're brighter), glove box, door lights, trunk lights, and reverse lights. I used (2) because they are shorter for front cabin lights, rear reading lights, foot lights, and outside mirror lights.

I am not the ebay seller, just posting what I purchased. Just use them as reference and find lower prices elsewhere. They're all over the web.
