2010 E63 tranmission question.

This is the first car I've owned with a auto/double clutch transmission.

I've noticed even on Comfort mode at a stop it seems like the car sits in neutral even though in the "AMG" display it shows that the car is sitting in 2nd gear.
Once I accelerate from a stop it feels like the transmission is "slipping" that it remains in neutral for that split second and then goes into gear and you can feel it in the back of your seat.

Is this normal?

I find that even if I have it in M mode and I am in 1st gear at a stop it does the same thing. It's almost as if it sits in neutral until you touch the throttle to engage the gear.
