Exclamation NEW! AMG Flat Badge Available! WHITE STAR Flat Badges back in stock!

I have resumed production of WHITE STAR Flat Badges. In addition, to address numerous requests, I have also designed a second badge,
an AMG Flat Badge.

Both flat badges are handmade from a genuine Mercedes upright hood ornament, part 210 880 01 86, using the original mount of the OEM part. So, they will fit all cars using this part: C-Class Sedans (only) 1995-present (W202, W203, W204 Sport or Luxury); E-Class 1995-present (W210, W211, W212); S-Class 1995-present (W220, W221), and CLK 1998-2002 (W208). These badges will NOT fit cars not designed to use the Original upright hood ornament, such as the W204 C63 AMG or the W203 Coupe.

Of course, the new AMG Flat Badge appropriately fits ALL AMG variants of cars above. The AMG badge offers enough contrast that it can also be used on cars with the tri-star badge on the grille, thus avoiding the “double badge” duplicate star issue on the newest car models.

The following picture (to right) shows the mount and lock of these badges, used without alteration from the original upright star. This ensures that your replacement flat badge will lock in the hood, just like your upright star. (Not like other flat badges that use funky screw posts with washers and wing nuts that take time to adjust.) It takes just seconds to remove your original upright ornament and replace it with either the WHITE STAR Flat Badge or the AMG Flat Badge. Switch back and forth between your original ornament and flat badge anytime the whim strikes you.

Each badge is autographed and serial numbered. Serial numbers are assigned in the order payment is received.

There currently are 365 serial-numbered WHITE STAR Flat Badges in circulation. The new AMG Flat Badge will start a new sequence of serial numbers, beginning at 003.

Your badge is delivered in 2-3 business days, via USPS Priority Mail, anywhere in the US. Int'l delivery available on request.

As always, I do not talk about pricing at MBWorld. This is to avoid confusion on the forums where I can be more specific off line. If you are interested, simply click on my e-mail address below my signature, and send me an e-mail. I will respond promptly, as always.

It occurs to me that some of you might not know the history behind my products here at MBWorld. So, I will post a link to one of the previous threads that proved informative and popular throughout the years. This link includes hundreds of photos of the WHITE STAR Flat Badge on various cars. Naturally, the majority of the pictures on W203s are further down the history of 320+ posts.

Weather warmed up enough to take a couple pictures of the new AMG Flat Badge. First two pics are of my W203, followed by a picture on a W211 E63 AMG.

Here are a few pictures from the archives of the WHITE STAR Flat Badge on various cars.

is not a matter of throwing rocks, is just how some products on the market nowadays just looks and sounds like a cash grab
there is no heart within the product, is just like some crap put together by kids and try to make people who think it would be cool to ruin their cars
anyways
i wish you have better produces soon, maybe do something that people on this forum have suggested
maybe replacing the blue with black
or make a all black emblem
seriously
no matter how much marketing you are doing, there is no use, you can put sugar on crap, i don't think people are going to bite, people on this forum are not dumb, please put a little research or heart into the work if you want to promote a certain product. Whats next? You are going to put MERC or MERCEDES in the emblem? GIve me a break

Hold one of these in your hand, and you immediately realize there is nothing cheap about them. It is simply a matter of taste. I, for instance, am an old BMW guy, and the stand-up star is difficult to get used to. The flat star gives my car a different look, is a high quality part, and is easy to switch without damaging the car in any way.

I have always enjoyed subtle modifications that change a car a little without wrecking the whole theme of the vehicle, and the aforementioned hood emblem is, in my opinion, just such a modification.

Sir, I normally don't get invloved in these petty pissing contests, but I find your suggestion that I don't put my heart into my work insulting and over the line.

Your opinion regarding my products are clear, I get it. It's not your cup of tea. Who cares? Luckily, there are nearly 400 members here with my work on their hoods whose opinions I value more.

This is my thread as a paid Sponsor on this forum. I hope to keep it uncluttered with negativism so that others who don't share your views can participate and have fun, instead. So, I invite you to keep further comments to yourself, or I will contact the moderators for their attention. Thanks, I think.

LSU1990, thanks for the kind words and support. You've captured the essence of what I do for those who don't want their daddy's hood ornament. I appreciate it.

In the past, a few people made a constructive observation, wishing that the WHITE STAR insert were more "three dimensional," standing out more from the rest of the badge.

So, when I found the new factory, I remembered this and went back to the drawing board to push the limits of vertical relief that could be had in the metal WHITE STAR insert stamping.

A comparison between the original design (badges 003-365 - left) and the inserts used in current production (right) is noted below. There's now more depth in the parts.

Will it fit a 2010 E350 Lux?

Just want to verify it will fit the 2010 E350 Lux. The hood is different from the other MB (not flat as the hood ornament/Star).

There are already a handful of W212s running around with these badges. I've asked for pictures to be posted here so we can see them (and answer your question). But so far, no one has posted W212 pictures.

The W212 uses the same upright star as the W211 that came before. So the hood divots have to be the same. I've not received any complaints from the several who have purchased them that they do not fit their W212s.

MB buys these by the tens of thousands for the new and replacement market, and without doubt they will use 200,000 or more before considering changing styles. The Blue Laurel Wreath upright star has been used for more than 18 years now, without change, for instance.

I can answer this. As it says in the first post, YES. These badges are adapted from the OEM standing star hood ornament. That way they are interchangeable. I can switch between my upright star and DFWdude's white star in mere seconds.

As he stated, it won't fit the C63, though... But I'm sure you also read that in the original post, too?

Occasionally I get this question in e-mail, but three people have asked about it this week alone. So I thought I would clarify here.

You do NOT have to be a member of MBWorld.org in order to purchase one of my badges. All Guests and members are welcome to inquire.

Here is a picture of the WHITE STAR Flat Badge on a W212 sedan... It fits fine.

Looks good! :-) But I like using my front star as a guide before I hit the car in front of me. Sorry, I guess maybe I'm a bad driver and I should know better.

I gotta work on that distance gauge. :-)

LOL, most of you E63 types order the Distronic package, so you really don't need the "gunsight" on the hood.

My product caters to those who want the subdued, shaved hood look on their sedans, similar to what appears on the sportier coupes. It doesn't appeal to everyone, but there is enough interest to keep me quite busy.

Anyone have one of these badges on a W212 they could post a picture of? I have been through this (and other threads) on this article and have yet to find anyone that has one on a W212. The W212, of course is unique due to the shape of the hood with the ridge in the center.

OAG, you've asked this question twice, now. Not sure what else I can do, other than to tell you I've sold 6 badges to W212 owners to date... No complaints on fitment, no requests to return a badge. I can't make people post pictures, other than the one I've offered above. I'm trying to get additional pictures, but beggars aren't choosers.

The ridge in the W212 hood is immaterial. If the hood fits the standard upright star (which it does), then the divot beneath it in the hood will fit one of my stars, the base of which is made from exactly the same part. HTH.

OK, DFW I believe you. Excuse me for asking twice - must have been a "senior moment". I have your email with the pricing etc., I appreciate it and I am "thinking it over" (the purchase). Thanks for all of the help and follow up,
