Replica Wheels

Hi, does anyone have any personal experience with replica wheels from OE Wheels LLC for the 2010 E class?? They are soooo much cheaper than OEM, and I see a lot of good reviews for them, but there are some bad reviews too. Do any of you guys have any recent experience with them?

Thanks
-A

I spoke to couple people from this forum, who bought MB replicas and every one of them bought it from http://getyourwheels.com/ . All of them were happy with their wheels. I went to their website and have not found AMG wheels, but people say you gotta call and they will send you what they have.

If you will buy your replicas somewhere - please keep us updated on quality of wheels you bought. I'm very interested too.
I've got couple websites that sell them :

http://www.powerwheelspro.com/shop/index.php

http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/amg_alloys

http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...016661&yr=2010

http://www.usarim.com/

Good luck.

Thanks for the links Aeggroup. But yeah, I saw these OE Wheels rims on ebay that look almost exactly like the ones on the 2010 E63, for around $500. So, I'm very interested to see what people think of OE Wheels. So far, they're the cheapest ones I've seen that look exactly like what I want.

Google it ...and you will see what people say...
I don't trust the cheapest ones...whatever they are...

This is E63 wheels I'm talking about, that I want to buy for myself :

Aeggroup,

Thanks for posting that. There are some nice wheels at USARIMS.

In your analysis so far, what have you discovered in terms of offsets?

Regular W212 offsets are 48mm 8.5" and 54mm 9". OEM w212 E63 wheels has 38mm offset 9" front and 52mm 9.5" rears. Some have installed aftermarket wheels with 35mm offsets with 8"/9.5" wide rims.

Tire Rack has a reputation for a conservative but guaranteed fitment. Oddly, when looking for wheels for e350, e350 4matic, e550 or e550 4matic, each one of these yield different wheel selections.

Any strong opinions on offsets for the W212?

Yeah, I'm looking for 18's. I want to keep the original tires, which are 245's and 265's.

Hmm...I don't know where have you found out this info.
I know that regular offset is 35mm front and rear...

The best way to find out if your wheel size will fit is here :

http://www.bigcustomwheels.com/info_specs.jsp

You put your original size on left side and desired on right. Look at the bottom for result.
Original size for RWD is
front 245/40/18 tires, wheels 18 x 8"5
rear 265/35/18 tires, wheels 18 x 9"5
4Matic uses 245/40/18 rear and front, but I'll use staggered anyway.
I know C class 4Matic - All go staggered, so don't see why E can not use the same.

I'd like to put :
front 255/40/18 on 18 x 8"5
rear 275/35/18 on 18 x 9"5
offsets 35

When I checked website - it says perfectly fine.
I know E63 AMG uses rear tires 285/35/18 and front 255/40/18

I'm waiting till spring to buy them...

Aeggroup,
I found the 48mm-F and 54mm-R info from the owner's manual. Cross referenced with an Ebay ad for oem W212 wheels and it checks out.

The non staggered setup uses the 48mm offset all around.

Hmm....I have to admit that you're right. Thanks for posting this. I just red from online manual the same. 4Matic has 48mm front and rear.

So, if I were to get 44mm offset on the back, would that push the wheels out a bit toward the outside of the car or pull them back in?

Assuming you are running 48mm 8.5" wide wheels, your wheels would be pushed OUT by 4mm (less than a quarter inch).

When will the USA adopt the metric system? Industry is mostly metric in the US. Even your drug dealers use metric measures. All sales are made in gramms and kilos. When will your gov't move on this issue for public use? The US is the only developed nation in the world not on board. I bring this up because reading the posts on offsets where we need precise measures, we can't be talking in inches.

My back tires, right now, are 265/35/18 (9.5" rims I believe), and based on ur previous info, they're 54mm offset. The new ones I want to buy are going to be 9.5" with 44mm offset. So, that should make the car look 1 centimeter wider on each side, right?

I think here in the US we're pretty much at a point where we're comfortable with both the metric and US systems. For smaller, more precise measurements we tend to use the metric system, and for larger measurements we use the US system. I think it's OK for now, but eventually down the line, I'm pretty sure we'll be using the metric system a lot more. It's definitely a lot more logical.

Ok great. Thanks. What do you think of the same rims, but with 28mm offset. I guess that would push out the wheels by 1 inch on each side. You think that's too much??

Yup. 10mm outwards (less than 1/2"). If it clears the fender lip, then you're all good.

I'm thinking of buying either one of these,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290378893556
OR
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290378893478

I'd rather get the first one (if it fits) because of its lower offset... As you can see, the price is very reasonable (especially since you can get another 8% cash back by using Bing), but I don't know how high-quality they are.

You would probably be better off "offset-wise" with your second link. The first has offsets which are way to low.

I am seeing "new" offsets making their way onto on Eebay (45mm F & 50MM R)... NOW we're talking. Check it out... search for 2010 e550... it should pop up.
