First MB; need help with COMMAND
Anyway, only problem is I cannot possibly figure out the COMMAND. I tried reading the owners manual but gave up on page 10. Way too confusing for me to comprehend; I am not a real techie type person! So can anyone direct me to a simple to understand web site that just goes over the basics on how to use it? Does such a thing exist?
This is my first post to this forum so appreciate any help. I know I could go to the dealer for help, but a "COMMAND for Dummies" web site would be preferred.
Thanks.
on the popcorn.Just go back to the dealer and have the salesperson walk you through. They should have done that in the first place. Remember the E Class demographic isn't exactly primed for the under 30 crowd and so the dealer is used to being patient with all the Frank Sinatra crowd customers they get. LOL.
ps., the E Class is far from exclusive. It's one of the most common of all the autos out there. Millions of them.
Anyway congrats and enjoy your new ride

This is the perfect place to figure out everything you need...
Not when the OP admits he/she can't even understand the written manual. And anyway, the COMAND manual is separate from the owner's manual. The online interactive manual is too condensed.
The OP needs to have the dealer walk him/her through the system. They should have from the day of delivery. How did he get his Mbrace set up? And the account? Or the phone pairing? If the dealer didn't go thru all that with the OP then it's a lousy and lazy dealership.
As for 220S, I find your "tone" to be somewhat negative. As I said in my post, this is my first MB and I was simply looking for a "shortcut" on the COMMAND if such a thing exists. You seem more intent on telling me how stupid I am. Perhaps if you read the post again, you would note that;
a) I have a 2010 E350 Coupe and there are not "millions" of those on the road.
b) Of course I can go back to the dealer for help. I was simply asking for an alternative.

I think your alternative is as you described. Go back to the dealer for an explanation....even then you may have some questions....and then read the manual. Do a search on YouTube for video tutorials or check out the MB website.

No, no such thing as an MB COMMAND exist, your car has COMAND.

I don't think you need more than browse through the Comand manual and play with the device. It is intuitive once you find out how it thinks, a lot easier than understanding women. Comand won't complain if you do something wrong when leaning, you can always start from zero again. Enjoy the car.

Pick one item in each category and ask your salesman to walk you through, BUT don't let him do it, you do it, with his guidance, then go home and practice, by adding addresses, phone numbers, program the radio etc.
Only if you fully understand the system do you get the fun from it. Nothing is worse than having a system in the car that you don't know how to operate. It is not intuitive, you have to really learn in.
Good luck

I wasn't being negative. I was being realistic and simply cut to the chase. You aren't stupid, but your dealer is for not taking the time to make sure you're comfortable with the operation of your purchase.
And sorry, but the demographic for this car is older people. It's a common stereotype that we can all laugh about (which makes the Audi commercial I posted right on and pretty funny.)
Did I ever say you were old and dumb? Nope. I said that your salesperson should be doing their job. Plus the dealers know their clientele and they should be more helpful. Many years ago MBUSA acknowledged that the dealers weren't doing the job of spending enough time during delivery since they were getting lots of customer complaints (it's also in the JD Powers data base.)
And sorry but the E Class is a pretty common car on the streets of the world. Coupe or sedan. That's just a fact. Don't take it personally. I drive one too.
And as I already said in my first post: congrats and enjoy your ride.
