thanks! I enjoy driving the 212 more, to be honest. It’s a lot more “Benz” feeling to me than the GLS (450), which we really love as well, but part of the “new” Benz platform that is just different. We’ve been very happy with it. It’s a 2020, bought new in Sept of that year as a birthday present for my wife. We’ve got 50k on it already. Other than a few minor annoyances that I chalk up to a new platform being built in the middle of COVID panic, we have zero complaints. Mercedes fixed them all right away (like a piece of debris on the hvac blower motor, missed clip on drivers door panel, that type of stuff, but not many). Went through similar with my old 2105 VW GTI as one of the first off the Mexico plant for the new platform back then. Hope to have her for many years and a couple hundred thousand miles. It does like to eat rear tires around 25k, but it has the staggered 21’ rims, so it’s to be expected. Rear tires are massive at 315 wide, but keeps that rear end right where it needs to stay under all weather conditions. I would not hesitate to buy another one. The i6 turbo with the 48v is a joy, and gets it moving as fast as anyone would want to move in a car like that.

My mistake, I thought it was an ML, didn't realize it was a GLS. Those also look great. Glad you love it and you're certainly using it with 50K miles on it Before buying my E-450 wagon in Dec of 2020 I had a BMW X5 diesel and it had the 20" wheels with a staggered setup. My rears on those were 320's and after only 4K miles got a screw right near the side wall so had to spring for a new tire. It was such a waste but not much I could do. I bought my 2020 wagon because I didn't want the 2021 All Terrain with the plastic cladding and raised height. I've also seen several folks complaining about the 48V battery being dead and needing the vehicle to be towed to the dealership. Seems like the GLS has avoided that issue seen on the E-class vehicles. Happy motoring with both your lovely Benz.

I’ve seen those posts about the 48v battery issue too. Don’t think any model with this system is immune to it, including the GLS. We’ve been lucky I guess. Only had one weird instance around 7k miles coming out of the grocery story, got the error message but the car ran. Drove it home and never had the issue since.
I am a wagon fan! Would love to have one, and it’s on my list one day whenever the sedan finally calls it a day. But as a 2014 with around 65k on the clock now, I think I’ve got a few more laps to race with it. I love jt, and as long as I don’t see annual repair bills over $5k - $7k to keep her going, I’m in it for the long haul. Every few years, I’m ok with, but not every year. I’m of the age now that I appreciate the older cars more than the newer ones, and think the 212 is one of the last classics you can still buy and use every day.

Glad to hear you only had one incident related to the 48V battery and not ever again (knocking on wood)
I hear you, why trade your perfectly good W212 if you love it and its been good to you just to buy a wagon. Like you, I love wagons and I've owned two VW, two Volvo and now my W213 wagon. In between I've had two SUV's (2002 original X5 and a 2018 X5 diesel). I feel wagons offer little compromise, almost same room as a mid-size SUV but handles and drives like a car so gets better fuel economy and one can throw it around. My original X5 back in 2002 I ordered with a manual transmission and that thing I could drive like a 5-series. Lots of fun.
Installed spacers all around (+15F +20R). First time ever installing spacers on any of my vehicles. I'm a stock wheel lover so this is probably a must on any cars I buy in the future lol.

Hey there - is this stock suspension setup/ride height, too?
