Want a 2012 CLS550 or 2012 E550, both 4-Matic. The main reason is I live at elevation and twin turbos up here in almost any car are beastly. My plan for it would be to do wheels and tires, and then go to Kleemann for their K1 tune since they are right in Colorado Springs, and they protune on a dyno. As Cory explain it to me, the downpipes aren't available for the non-AMG 4-Matic cars, but it's actually the turbo pipes upstream of the downpipes that is restrictive, not so much the downpipes which may give a marginal horsepower gain. I figure 450whp on 91 pump is a somewhat realistic yet optimistic goal, given that you correct for elevation loss on a dyno. Also considering getting a daily on top of that so I can run some kind of badass tire setup like Pirelli Trofeo Rs or PSC2s, but idk if you are aware that the Pilot Sport Cup 2 is an "R-Compound" tire that will morph and melt as you drive on it. But as for exhaust I'm kind of unsure of what my options for an M278 4-Matic are, because catless downpipes and everything else stock sounds beastly, but I can't really do downpipes if I got one due to the AWD, so wondering if a GTHaus Exhaust is the way to go.

1) Smart value getting the Biturbo from 2012 right before they discontinued on the E550.
2) Smart choice picking a renowned performance shop in your back yard.
3) One correction, "True" downpipes are available on the non-AMG 2012 4Matics. We have two options Weistech and Supersprint. Here is a link to the Weistech option ( http://weistec.com/all/e/e-550/2012-...-e550-awd.html ). Here is a link to the Supersprint option ( http://supersprint.us/CAR/Mercedes%2...0M278)%20(W212) ).
They were correct in stating it is not worth the cost of the "True" downpipes though (confirmed the same with RENNtech and TTM) unless you decide to get upgraded turbos (i.e. Alpha 9, RENNtech, Weistech are options). Just the "true" downpipe piece of the exhaust is $3,000 plus you need to lower the engine to get those in.
It is worth the cost to get 3" pipes without cats and resonators from the stock downpipe to the exhaust tip as Cory stated (improves exhaust note and performance).
4) I am aware that the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires are a bi-compound tire and that part of the tire is an R-compound rubber. Thanks.
5) You have many options for the AWD 4Matic. As mentioned earlier, you can get true downpipes but these are not recommended unles you were to get larger turbos. I would recommend 3" pipes that eliminate the cats and resonator all the way from the downpipe to the rear axle. From the axle back, you have many options my final choices were Meisterschaft GTS and Eisenmann racing (bear in mind this is coming from a guy that had Lou Gigliotta Pro Long Tube headers and Borla Stingers on my Vette...so needless to say I like it loud!). The Meisterschaft sounded better to me than the Eisenmann and were a fraction of the cost. TC concepts also made a sweet sounding exhaust but was very expensive like the Eisenmann racing exhaust.
Best of luck to you.

2011 E550
How much? I'm curious because I'm currently looking for the same rims but in black. And do you know if it will be a problem for the fitment on a 2011 E550. Thanks in advance.
