I really can't help on the technical end of the suspension. But it has to do with the design of the suspension that allows for the adjustments. The literature calls it Direct Control Chassis. It is a dampening action (Agility Control) which automatically senses the road surface. The Sport tuning is 15mm closer to the road surface and stiffer than the Luxury tuning. (This from the Interactive Owner's Manual.)

Congrats yet again!

So how would you compare the new E350 with the W211 E320 you had?

Hey ML... good to talk with you again.

It is really difficult to compare the two cars. It has been a while and many MB's in between the E's. I can say that the new E is a very nice package and coming from the C350 Sport, the ride is superb and very quiet. I think the new E is closer to the S class than in other model years. All in all another MB winner...

I noticed your car has no "off" position for the headlamps. I have rented a few W212 E350's (all P1 cars) and they had an "A" auto position and a "O" off position. Is that specific to luxury cars or P2 I wonder...

How goes the Zaino...

I think the switch changes with P2 and the Bi-Xenon lights and Adaptive High Beam Assist setup. I just leave it in Auto with the LED running lights activated.

ya, and i think you lose the manual control for the front fog lights. you only get the control the rear one, and when you turn that one on, something happens with the headlights to adapt for foggy conditions.

Thanks... I read the manual and MB sure makes switching on the lights an adventure. Manual indicates the A position is for "convenience" and the driver is responsible for operating the lights. The A position sometimes will not work as desired due to changes in ambient light levels and they advise putting the switch on low beam and using the lever for high and low beams if conditions vary. German engineering at its worst in this case...

I don't know why M-B seems to nanny you so much with this car.

From putting it back to "C" mode, to giving you absolutely no control of the lights really.

I just wish if they were gonna start taking ultimate control away from the driver, they should do what we all really need them to do: Make it nearly impossible to turn on that annoying REAR FOGLIGHT!!!!
