Real World Mileage - E350
So, what are YOU getting for mileage?
After 4954 miles I'm averaging 21.21MPG in my E350.

You engine is still in its infancy. Wait until you hit the 10,000 ~ 15,000 mile mark and get your first oil change. You will have a better indication of what your mileage is. But 21MPG is not bad for such a new engine

I think this was meant for the E350's, but here's another comparison point:
E550 @ 3,600 mi: ~19.5MPG
And I have been occasionally "fueling my exuberance" as MB so eloquently put it...

Sorry guys, the truth is even worse. I looked at my speedometer today and data shocked me. It says average 13.5 MPG ....90% city driving.. total 2880 miles.
This is called real world number .....I don't understand how do you get 19 - 21 MPG...Do you step on the gas pedal sometimes or not ?? )

Most of my driving is highway, but I love trying to see if I can really get 0-60 in 5.2 secs from time-to-time... So far I'm at 5.7... But the engine is still young.
I could not drive this car with a soft gas pedal... That V8 sounds way too good with an open throttle.
Here's to fueling exuberance!

I've got an 09 E350 but for mileage readings, I believe 09 and 10 should be very similar. My trip computer says 6133MI 41MPH 25.7MPG. I'm 90% highway in SoCal. I was surprised at my last fill up, calculating by hand. 355 miles, filled with 12.94 gallons.
If my mileage is still going to improve, I can't believe how efficient this engine runs! I'm mostly driving ~75MPH between San Diego and LA.

I am very surprised by your numbers!
For me, I'd say city and highway is about 60/40 and I probably can do around 350 miles per tank (around 16.6 mpg guesstimating based on 21.1 gal tank). My last fill-up was 80% highway (including some traffic) and it was 260mi/12.767gal = 20.36 mpg real-world. The computer said I got around 22.x mpg.
But then again my numbers are in "S"-mode, and I drive around maybe 10-15 mph faster than you if traffic allows on the highway. After a few months in "S"-mode, I'll go back to "C"-mode and see if there's a noticeable difference in fuel economy...

I was really surprised on my last tank fill up. I was at about 1/4 tank left and I checked to see how many more miles that meant for the tank. The computer showed 202 miles. Huh??!! No way!!
I've been in S mode lately. People say C mode just shifts sooner but it feels like a different car to me. Throttle in C mode feels lethargic. I don't notice much difference in gas mileage. The one time, when I made a round trip between SD and OC and got trip computer showing 29.9MPG, I was in C mode. Will I ever get the computer to show 30.0MPG without driving super slow at 65MPH the whole trip?

Sad 10~14mpg
I have 2016 E350. Original purchase May2015 I bought Jan2018 22,000miles.
Few months ago I did this first time: fill up tank, check my odometer set zero. After half tank(10gal) I jot down the miles, fill up gas and jot down the exact gallons I put in(on receipt). Divide that.
It was only freaking 10mpg. I live in Honolulu and drive mostly city but 10mpg even on highway 60mph. Then I searched the internet and splurged seafoam fuel injector into fuel tank. Immediately became 14mpg the next 10gal point. Did again and the next 10gal was also 14. My odometer is 35,000 right now but tbh the mileage was about 10 even back when I first got the car in 2018. Your car mpg is amazing. To make it better, OR to prevent it from getting bad over time, you can put seafoam in tank recommended amount every time you put gas. Cheapest costco gas will still suffice becuz the seafoam boosts up waaaayyy more than 92+ octane.
for the person who gets 14mpg in NYC I envy you assuming you didnt use a fuel injector. Cuz if you did your car will have better mpg than mine. :-( :-( :-( Not happy with gas here

FYI
2015 E400
Twin Turbo V6 engine.
Per trip computer on 900 mile trip I just got home yesterday
Avg speed = 79
28.0 mpg
the MPG really makes up for the prices of Premium fuel she drinks as the prices are crazy in nothern states
Average 75 cents more per gallon then regular.
Where I live the difference is closer to 40 cents.

Always a 10 year old post...
But just for the record - my RWD 2016 gets 22-23 in my mixed driving but into the low 30s on highway trips.

2014 E350 also restored: 1969 Camaro convertible SS 1957 Chevy Belair 2dr hardtop
2014 E350 Highway average 36mpg Driving to grocery store and other places 21-22 mpg. Car does not get driven much anymore. Sits in heated garage with cover over it. It gets washed about once every 6 months if it needs it or not. if not on vacation car gets about 1000 miles or less in a year. otherwise if used for vacation about 3000 miles in a year. Best car I ever owned for highway driving and mileage. The 69 camaro only got 4 city driving and 8 highway.

18ish average, mostly city driving, car is on PS4s so it really suck at fuel economy,
my work commute is under 3 miles round trip, I do two road trips a year normally, if I'm driving 100% on freeway I can reach 26mpg.

Daily driving, going to work at about 35 mph in town, and a few 40 - 60 mile trips each month, she gets about 24-25 mpg. Winter, she gets about 22 mpg.
On the highway for a vacation, averaging 75 mph, she gets 28 - 29 mpg. She really seems to like to stretch her legs and run.

fwiw, the first 600 or so miles we've put on our new-to-us 2016 E350 4matic wagon have averaged about 24 MPG, thats mostly been drives up and down the coast (down to big sur and back, up to Marin and back, and so forth). plenty of lead foot assisted passing of slowpokes who can't maintain the 55 MPH speed limit (and with short passing lanes, my passing speed is often 85-90MPH, but my open road cruising speed is more like 70ish)
