In USA, two of the four round lights are DRL's and two are fog. To get xenons on E350, you have to get P2 option package and you get the L shaped LED DRL's. Per M-B, if you have xenon, you do not need fog lights as the xenons do the job just as well.

In this humid, foggy, and often rainy coastal area that I live, the L-shape DRL does not do much help, so does the white light HID or Xenon. I enjoy the lights casted by my Fog Lamps very much.

Annoying that you can't pick xenon wo. P2. It's no US thing that you get the L shaped DRL with xenon, it's like that everywhere. It's not true that you don't get foglights w. xenon, you'll get even a even better "fog program" for the headlights instead. It's very impressive and adapts after how fast you drive.
