removing headrests

Hi all, I have a 2010 E350. I'm trying like hell to figure out how to temporarily remove the driver's side front headrest, and up to this point, have had nothing but trouble.

Does anyone here know how to remove this?

My specs are MB-Tex, P2, regular seats.

Thanks.

You can't remove active head restraints on MBs with active head restraints.....

Keep trying and you'll end up damaging the seat and active restraints.

Our W204 C-Class active restraint broke (Driver side) I was trying to reach into the back seat and get something in my sons rear facing seat and the headrest popped out. Anyway took the car in under warranty, I asked the service writer how did you guys fix or replace the part. He showed me were the backside of the seat pops off and the access to remove is in there. It's kind of a PITA but it can be done. Not sure why you would want to remove it though. E-Class should have the same headrest design as our C-Class.

The seats of the E and C are different, but yes you're right you can access the restraints by removing the rear plastic shell from the seat frame. On the E it's a super PITA and so the OP should think twice about attempting to do it lest he/she damage the seat.

It's not like the old days when you pushed in on a button and pulled the head rest out.
