CLICKING SOUND from DASH!

We've had our 2010 E350 for about 2 months now. After about 2 weeks of ownership, I noticed a nearly constant clicking noise coming from the center of the dash near the Comand screen. On smooth roads you can't hear anything, but once there's a bump or slightly bumpy road the noise starts.

does ANYONE else have this problem and had it fixed?! thanks.

I had the same issue... Exactly what your describing, exactly the clicking noise... The difference is I had my car only for 3 days of ownership. I brought it into the dealership to have it checked out... They fixed it and now its gone... Its a small fix, and u shouldnt have any issues...

Good luck...

I just brought my e350 in for its first A service and noted the same problem but when the dealer checked it out he could not reproduce it. When I picked it up, it started clicking about 2 minutes later. can you give me any specific info about how the dealer fixed it so I can let my dealer know. It seems like the clicking is far more intermittent that it has been in the past but its very annoying.

I had the same clicking, coming from the area of LCD, they fixed it,they put some tape inside. Now I noticed the same sound coming from the back, wanna show it to my service adviser next time I visit the dealership.

we have it in our car too and it's kinda annoying. I thought i was over reacting but time to take the car to the dealer.

so a tape inside the LCD area will fix the noise?

They put felt tape on the inside near the LCD screen... In my case, if you push down near that area, it caused that clicking sound. SO perhaps find the spot and push down....have the SA come and show him, that way they cannot say it was not reproduceable... G/L

ask your SA to make a drive test with you and he will find the problem.

It sounds like, no pun intended, that there is a TSB out for this problem:

LI68.10-P-047474 JUL09 rattling/vibrating noises at center IC/speaker cover because of production tolerances, felt will be installed.

Thanks for starting this post. I have the same problem in my E-350. Now I can go to the dealer and not feel like a dope if they can't reproduce the click/rattle noise. This post and responses speak for itself. The dealer will have no choice but to make sure I am 100% satisified.
