Closing trunk with Smartkey or button in door

2021 GLE 350

Closing trunk with Smartkey or button in door

I can use the Smartkey or the button in the door to open the trunk lid with no problems but when I try to close it the same way it doesn't work. I hear a clicking noise and that's it. Is there a trick to it or is something wrong?

The smart key only opens the trunk, not close it. . Unless u have the trunk closer option, you will have to manually close it yourself...

I have the trunk closer option. The button on the truck lid works but the smartkey or drive door button don't.

Your probably not holding the door button until it closes. You can't just push it to close it like you do when you open it, you have to push and hold till it closes.

You can only close the trunk with the door button but you cannot close the trunk with your remote.

door button works for opening and closing trunk. Key fob cant close the trunk.

You have to depress and hold the door button to close the trunk. The remote or smart key will not close the trunk. Took me a few days to find out the trunk has a button on the underside of the trunk lid just above the license plate that will open the trunk (if the smart key is close).

This is a very interesting car and not all stuff works as I think it should (but then I did not design it).
