W212 or ?
This is a terrific car. No faults from what I could tell.
I checked out the M5, XKR, S6, and the E63. All were great rides. But none were perfect, so it wasn't an easy choice.

Just drove a totally loaded M56 sport. Well was I surprised. I thought the sport would have a harsh ride and uncomfortable seats. Wrong on both accounts. Ride was great and had no complaints about seats. Gorgeous car. I still think Infiniti's style looks like a blend of Porsche and Maserati, which I really like. Sales manager is driving an M37S and while talking to him this weekend he said he was getting 22+ mpg with mostly city driving. Not bad

If you interest on W212,, make sure you request a night time drive and enjoy those fancy lighting... also the back seat under the panoramic roof.. Being at Toronto, I need 4 wheel drive... I still believe the BMW will be better as a driver's car..

It's just a weird thing, the Luxury Mid-Size market, although others try, seems the top choices are always down to M-B or BMW. Maybe it's partly just a subconscious "brand" thing that none of us would ever like to admit, or acknowledge.
I've liked the XF for a while, and think, all in all, it is the most agreeably well done design in the segment right now, and the interior materials are in a different league IMO than the E-Classes, in regards to elegance and refinement (can't compare with the F10 as I've yet to see it in person). However, maybe it's my subconscious which has found Jaguar so dull and unimportant for so long, but I'm just not turned on by the car anymore enough to buy one. I can stare and appreciate, but to spend my own money on, I'd still go M-B or BMW, for whatever reasons. Of course, not to mention, the driving, solidity, quality, and safety aspects all go heavily to M-B's favor to me, over Jaguar.
The M stacks up well in the pics, though it's a totally different look through and through. The damn rear of the W212 is just so upsetting, as I've come to peace with the other angles, and even really like some, just that damn rear.... And the more I see that butt on the road, the less prestigious (never was), and more vomit inducing it is.
BTW, I wonder why they didn't use a Sport E-Class, as most all on the road are.

However, the M excels in the reliability dept.

C&D has also done a short take on the M37.

Aside: it seems like half the tests I see of the E-Class has it in that not-so-flattering gold color. What's that all about?

So, it means more to some people than others. Unfortunately for me, a particular car could be the most technologically advanced in the world and drive like no other, but if I think it's a poor design then I don't want it. The entire car must agree with me.

Side profile will come down to whether one likes swoopy, curvy, clean designs, or tougher, busy, sharp/angular designs.
.... Or let's be real here, whether one likes the M-B badge or BMW badge.
