Worked the 550 today
Started heading out to the rock but detoured up potrero - I'm a cyclist too, so didn't dig in too hard here (lots of roadies out today), and the road surface is a bit, er... bad. nice warmup so far.
Hit the straights through hidden valley and a few nice curves around sherwood- was very fortunate to have virtually no traffic and very few bikes, so after the warming up on potrero, ran the 550 through some WOT testing - nice!
Now for the test- up into the hills and into the hard curves of Mulholland and Decker. I had picked up a tweeked up honda in hidden valley, and he wanted to play a bit so he followed me into the hills. Again, this area gets pretty crowded sometimes and I was taking it fairly low key with concern for other cars/bikes/motorcycles, but there were places with great visibility where the 550 could really show what it has - drifting through a few when I could. I thought the honda was modded up pretty well, but he was way behind. As I finished the final slopes of Decker I ended up pushing an A6 in front as well (he was trying, but not a good driver...)
awesome morning, and I was pretty impressed after the workout- not bad for a 'luxury' sedan.
the only ONLY thing I didn't enjoy was the shifting... the gear limiter isn't a good substitute for fast paddle-blipping
