Air Conditioner Drip/Smell
I'll move this to the C207 forum if I have to, but there are generally more readers here and you guys may know the answer.
This is my 2nd summer with my E550 coupe (got it August 2009). I was checking my tire pressure and doing some detailing today and left it idling for 5+ minutes in my driveway with the A/C on. When I test drove the car afterwards, I noticed that there was no puddle from the dripping A/C. For the past few months (it's been HOT here in NC) that there is an odor from the A/C at startup.
I have 2 questions: 1. Does your A/C drip and leave a puddle like most every car i've seen? 2. Where is the drip pipe? I Can't find it under the car. I figured I'd check it to make sure it was clear before making the trip to the dealer to have it sorted out. I know other MB cars have had odor issues, but I think mine may simply be a clogged drip pipe.

My wife had that same problem on her 2003 CLK500. It was something to do with the drain and it was rectified by the dealership. I'm surprised this problem is still here seven years later. I notice also that all three cars have v8 engines.

your drain is plugged. on many cars you can find the drain near the firewall. Sticking a wire into the hole can sometimes unlodge whatever is clogging it.....although trip to dealer would do same.
