We have gotten away from the original question. WHY DOES ANYONE BUY A E350 INSTEAD OF THE E550?
Some of you don't like the answer. IT IS A MUCH BETTER VALUE.
An extra 10% cost is not a deal breaker for most E class owners. You can argue till the cows come home over the 1.3 sec acceleration differential or the troublesome air suspension but facts are facts.
Common sense is what makes the E350 the more popular and wiser choice.

I would go even further, and I know I'm going to be bombarded by E63 folks, by stating that with E550 I do not see much point in E63 in the US.
I mean is almost 400 tourque not enough? Please, ignore that, I realy do not want to start an other topic.
Just to reiterate, as I already pointed out (and Petee mentioned, too) the AMGs are not ONLY about the motor. They are a better car than the 550 in all ways. Everyone mentions only the torque/hp as the difference. But in the real world the 550 is less of a performer even if the motors were absolutely identical. Add the P030 option to the E63 and the difference is even dramatically more apparent.Originally Posted by threeMBs
