Rear Seat Entertainment

Hey all,

Today in the mail I recieved something from Mercedes-Benz regarding the Mercedes-Benz Rear-Seat Entertainment System. I had originally wanted this option when I purchased my vehicle in May. But the dealer said I would have of had to wait until September for one I would have built. I didn't want to wait so I bit the bullit and bought the car thinking maybe I could buy one for down the road. I think I have reached that point. So, basically my question is... Is it possible to have a factory install on my 2010 E-Class? Because I would love to take advantage of the opportunity if it's one to take.

Thanks!

As far as I know the factory installed rear seat entertainment is different from the dealer installed one. I think you can only get the dealer installed RSES at this point.
Here is a pic of the dealer installed.

And factory installed

Oh, I see. I was really hoping for the factory install. I'm not in love with the dealer one, but I guess if it works for the kids, it works for me. Thanks for your help!

Or you can do what I am going to do with my 1st gen IPADS when the 2nd gen comes out...

Put cases on the ipads.. get a buckle with vinyle or a dog collar and buckle it against the headrest.. BAM.... Rear seat entertainment with internet... get some bluetooth headsets and forget about it!

Haha. It's funny you say that because I have thought about that many times. I already have a 32g Wi-Fi+3G and may consider getting another. It's really not a bad idea. And I had gone to the dealer today and they said they could install the RSES for $2,400 plus tax. So it would also be much cheaper just to buy another iPad ;]

Amazing in the event of an accident! OEM system isn't the cheapest/slickest, but it is crash tested to work with the neck-pro headrests. It won't maim your kids.
