Hilarious...
So ever since I bought the car I was "intrigued" by the voice command playback when dialing phone numbers via the hands free function. It sounded very familiar to a "certain" Steven Spielberg Character. So for my prompt to dial my house, I programmed in "E T, Phone Home". Sounds pretty damn close. Might not interest many, but when my son heard it...he almost pis##ed himself laughing. The small things in life...
Factoid-
The major voice work for E.T. was performed by Pat Welsh, an elderly woman who lived in Marin County, California. Welsh smoked two packets of cigarettes a day, which gave her voice a quality that sound effects creator Ben Burtt liked. She spent nine-and-a-half hours recording her part, and was paid $380 by Burtt for her services.
The line "E.T. phone home" was ranked 15th on AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movie Quotes list
