Faded Burl Wood Trim on "new" E350

I just picked up a new 2010 E350 at closeout pricing.
When I got home I remove the airbag sticker on the front dash (stuck on the burl wood trim) above the dash.
The wood underneath was MUCH darker than the surrounding trim. I imagine that the car has been on the lot for 6-9 months and the sun faded the rest of the wood.
It's noticeable just looking at it.
Should I ask the dealer to replace these pieces under warranty. I mean it's not broken, but it looks pretty bad. It doesn't matter that the car is physically 6-9 months old. I purchased it NEW so everything should be perfect.
What say ye?

Same here. Purchased in July and ine has been on back order since...
Was supposed to ship from Germany on 8/8 but that has been delayed again with no ETA at this point.
Pretty surprising MB can't get their **** together with these....

I can deal with the fact it's on back order but the thing that chaps me is that You can get no info out of MB on it in terms of availability....

E350 Burl Fading
We are considering buying a use 2010 E350. However, after reading many of the POSTS we are concerned that we may not be able to get the Burl Kit within the next three or four week. Has anyone in NC received a Burl Kit with the last month. We will not complete the Purchase until we can gain some confidence that the Burl Kit can be received at our Dealership in NC not later than September 30, 22013. Is this reasonable?

does anyone if vin 573417 also has any issues with wood fading. I noticed that on both sides of the center counsel there is some fading that began to occur.

Burl Wood replacement on 2010 E350
Dealer notified me last week that Burl Wood for my 2010 E350 has arrived. I never expected to get it so quickly. I took my E350 to the Dealer today for installation. Looking forward to seeing my new Burl Wood today.

didnt go through all 3 pages of this thread, just seeing it for the first time.
if your car is still under warranty it will be replaced for free. there is a dealer technical bulletin.
if your car has burl wood installed up until august of 2009 i believe (cant remember off the top of my head) it will be covered. there was a lack of UV coating when making the wood trim.
all trim panels get replaced. including door panels.

After reading this thread, I decided to call MB due to my wood trim fading. My E350 has been mostly kept in the garage until recently. Only have 12500 miles on a 2010. It's starting to look terrible. While making the call, they said they weren't aware of any fading problems. Hopefully, the'll replace it.

I just came back from the dealer in Fort Lauderdale. They looked at the trim and ordered the kit, no questions, no problems. They said it should be in early next week. I'm so glad I looked into the forum. I did show them the service bulletin I found here as well. I'm happy.
The day I traded the 2004 E in, the wood trim still looked perfect. I hope the new trim will last as long. I keep cars for a longer period of time.

Sounds like you guys are getting yours within a few weeks of informing the dealer of your problem. Maybe I need to check back with my dealer since it has been a month. It should be in soon so maybe they have more info on it.
