Distronic grill design
I have the Distronic system installed on my 2011 E-550 with luxury trim. I just realized that the grill pattern is 3 horizontal bars (like in the sports trim) and not the 4 horizontal bars that I've seen on other luxury trim E-550 without the Distronic feature. Is this correct or did the wrong grill get installed at the factory?

No, you're Luxury trim should come with the 4-Bar grill. It seems the Distronic only comes in the 3-Bar grill?

UPDATE: I found several photos of a 2010 E550 Luxury Sedan with Distronic that has a 3-bar grill!! I'm not sure if the 2011 spec car is supposed to have this or not.
The car does look cool with the 3-bar grill (has black behind the chrome on the bars).

That was my assumption. I've only seen the Distronic with a 3-bar grill, but I'm not certain that this is correct for the luxury trim. The mystery continues.

OK, I just checked with the parts department at my dealership. There is only ONE grill design for the Distronic Plus option on the E550 which is a 3 bar unit. There is no difference between luxury or sport trim for 2011.

From what I could find when I was looking the E550 Luxury trim had many of the sport attributes, including drilled rotors and trapezoidal exhaust tips but still retained the smiling front bumper and ground clearance.
By the way the color is Indium Grey which looks great in real life when the sun makes it sparkle, but looks pretty drab under cloudy skies.

Distronic only comes with a 3 slat grille. I also like the Indium Grey. HBerman, do you have any pictures of your 11 E550 luxury, I have yet to see the new LED design for the Luxury models. Thanks!
