E-350 from license plate help

I got a fix-it ticket for not having a front plate. I have the plate and the plastic frame I found in my trunk. I looked at the front grill and have absolutley no idea how to attach the thing. I have to get it on there to get the ticket signed off.

Any ideas on how to get the plate on there?

You can either drill holes in the bumper or take it to the dealership that you bought the car from and they should mount it for you for free.

I thought this was pretty neat. Did not help me as the dealer had already drilled the bumper: http://images.gominigo.com/INSTRUCTI...NOHOLES_MB.pdf

I'd be VERY cautious about that "no holes" set-up... Looks like they are mounting it on a bumper without any parking sensors. I bet it would interfere with the parking sensors if the plate were mounted like that on a car with parktronic. I have a Euro spec plate mounted on the front of my US spec E and it occasionally interferes with the sensors, even though I have bent the sides in and mounted it flush to the bumper with a little felt between the two... Didn't think about it when I ordered the plates.

However, if you don't have that feature, it looks like a good solution.

Hi Spute,
I guess you are in cali too? It happened to me on my CLS too. Not sure if you have the AMG package?

What you do is try measuring the height of your lower grill (mesh I assumed), if the front license plate fit on the grill, use 4 plastic strap (the kind you can tighten and lock) to the back of the grill, and voila~ you got your front license plate without holes on your bumper.

Hope it helps.
