Thanks, but I thought there were different pressure ranges for the front tires and rear tires?

Interesting. When I checked my label, it only showed 33/42. Where did you see the 30/35 for normal load rating? Since I aired mine up to 33/42, I might need to drop it back down. Have a 2011 E550 Sport Sedan.

Just was pleasantly surprised that I have the Pirelli PZero's. Always thought those were the coolest tires for some reason.

I have Continental SportContact 3 (actually on 19") as supplied by MB. I found them OK until I started reading tyre tests. As you can probably tell from my spelling, I am in Europe and the Contis always fare well in tests against the other premium brands. Where they suffer is in the noise department. However, you can pretty much take the ratings for the dynamic parameters and turn them upside down to get the noise ratings, so noise seems to be a price you have to pay for performance. The cheaper brands were very quiet but one was described as "silent but deadly". Better the constant drone of a tyre than the brief crescendo of metal against metal . . . . or tree.

Another side of me says that I drove for probably 15 years on all kinds of cheap, mismatched, repaired or reconditioned tyres without ever having an issue simply because my driving style never took me anywhere near their limit. Now it's suddenly important to have the tyres with the best aquaplaning or wet braking performance. We are falling victims to the marketing. Any tyre has to be an improvement on what I and others have survived on far less sophisticated cars than we drive today.

As I said, until I was told they were noisier than average, I never had an issue. If I were replacing, I'd opt for something quieter, along the lines of the P Zeros, and sacrifice a little performance in the knowledge they'll still do far more than I am likely to ask.

Have Pirelli PZero Nero All Season - no previous experience as my other cars have been w/Michelin or Continental mostly.
