Anyone else notice a 'crackling' sound from under their car after shutting it off? I noticed it and then my wife asked me after pulling into garage tonight ,"why does it make that sound"? It does it regardless of outside temperature or time of day. Thanks.

I think the cracking sounds from the car after shut it down are from the catalytic converter, after it cool down, there is no sound.

SoCal is correct, you're hearing your EXTREMELY hot catalytic converter (or rarely your headers/exhaust pipes) cooling down.

Nothing to worry about.
