Does your navigation let you type address' in while driving i have 2011 e350 i havent checked but i think it does my 08 did but i was reading some were that they were saying it does not work while driving. Can anyone confirm it does? Im working now so can't check

 

No it does not let you input but you can use voice commands

 

fwiw, I have the same system that's on the W212s. The last of the 2009 W211s got the new updated HDD based COMAND and Nav. I can input while in motion. I'm only guessing but I imagine the ROW versions of the W212 can also input while driving.

I don't find the command that useful at all........the sirrus traffic business is very cool though

 

I believe COMAND is the entire audio/navigation/electronic system which includes navigation and voice comand.
Personally, I like the voice comand for changing folders in Music Register, CD's, radio stations, tracks, as well as entering addresses, etc.

 

I think he's just confused as to what COMAND actually is.... (COckpit MANagement And Data system)

Voice command (not 'comand') is 'VC' and an integral part of COMAND.

 

yes, the voice command is what I mean, of course I do like to control
my electronics.....I just meant what a schlub I feel like when I bark commands
into the air in front of me....lol
I just use the buttons and the dial mainly.......

on another note: I drove my truck today for the first time in a week or so.....that was weird after being in the 550.....even though it's a v8 also......lol....

 

I can do everything the same with my Comand moving the car or not. Navigation works just the same. 2011 E350.
