Designo process

A quick question for those in-the-know:

I want to go with Designo for an S212 - can that car be ordered with separate options (e.g. designo exterior colour but standard leather interior and wood)?

What is the difference (apart from colour) between Designo leather and standard leather?

What is the time frame for delivery of a custom ordered designo car?

Thanks

You can select designo options individually (designo paint but standard leather, etc)
designo leather is nappa, the standard leather is not - nappa is softer with less visible grain
designo typically adds 6-8 weeks to production time

Edit: designo configurator for Canada:

Thanks for the helpful information and the configurator link. I will be speaking to a dealer, however, any ideas on the cost of the paintwork and designo leather?

I also wonder, when ordering the Sand leather, what colour would the roof liner be by default?

Thanks

designo paint is $2500 for standard, $3500 for mystic and $5500 for matte.

designo leather is $2400, but you must first equip the car with standard leather, so $2500 + $2400 = $4900. I would also recommend heated rear seats for an extra $550 if you have rear passengers often.

The roof liner will be black fabric by default. You can upgrade to Alcantara, IIRC it is $2600.

Edit: these are Canadian prices and apply only to the E-Class Sedan/Wagon (not E63).

Thanks. Yes, definitely heated rear seats. Interestingly, the designo configurator has been pulled from the Canadian website shortly after posting the link - but at least I have been able to confirm that it is the same one as the U.K. ....

A final question: how much do dealers typically ask for downpayment on a designo ordered car? I am not asking for anything fancy, basically colour and perhaps leather.

Thanks

Dealers will typically require a deposit equal to the value of the designo options ordered.
