S212 - third row seating
A question I have about the third row seating:
I've briefly seen it at the dealer - I find it almost comical, in the sense that it appears to have no utility whatsoever (perhaps for monkeys). It comes standard in Canada, but I have the option of deleting it and getting the "EASY PACK LOAD SECURING KIT" instead.
How useful have people found the third row seat (I have no kids)?
By deleting the third row, do you save on space, weight and easy access to the spare wheel?
What does the EASY PACK LOAD SECURING KIT entail? Is it a good trade off for the third bench seat option in terms of value, subsequent sale of the car, gaining more boot space?

Wagons without the 3rd row seats will suffer on resale. If you're leasing its a moot point, but if you're buying leave the 3rd row seats intact. The 3rd row seats cannot be retrofitted after the fact.
The EASY-PACK kit has securing rails that run on either side of the cargo area and various different fastening mechanisms to secure cargo of various sizes and shapes. You also free up some space under the floor (although marginal).
