Anti-Theft Protection ?
My car came with Express Systems Inc. marking (http://www.expressprotection.com/Ant...ress-Code.aspx ).
Anybody else has Express Code / is this really "invisible" like web site claims?

Yes, you need special light to see the code. Similar protection is used in passports and other documents. My dealer told me it helps track a car if it was flatbedded and then shipped overseas.

I have Boomerang installed on my car for tracking. Installed by dealer and it is good for 5 years. After 5 years, I need to buy the monitoring service.

All a waste of money. The car is too complex for joy riders to steal and pros are too smart to get caught. Your best bet is a good insurance company that will replace the car for its' full value.

It is complex for ordinary consumer view, if car is transfered to Taiwan, then there are many shops which replace electronic module responsible for security and sell the car for high $$$. I do not think that E350 is real target for such theft, but E63 is certainly.

I get a text message from Tele-aid if my alarm is activated. I can contact the police within seconds if my car is stolen. Maybe not as as effective as express systems, but at least it is real-time notification.

Maybe some of you recall the TV program where a professional "high end" car thief was put to the test on several different cars to see how long it would take to steel them. He had to start the car and drive it away. Long story short, the hardest car to steal was the Mercedes, took him 40 hrs to complete the task. The next was the BMW, took him 1 hour to complete the task. The other American made cars were gone in just a few minutes. So in actuality, these cars would need to be flat bedded, towed, car jacked, key stolen or something of that sort to get it.

Don't forget MB also has motion detectors? MB is not the best target car, but I remember reading an article where the president of of MB in Germany had his bullet proof car stolen. Difficult but not impossible. Back to my point,if the guy is good enough to steal it, you will never see it again. Best protection is your insurance carrier, anything else is a waste of money.
