I have a JB iPhone and just installed an app called FakeClockUp. All it does is increase the animation time/speed and doesn't really improve any technical aspects of the phone (clock/processing/internet speeds) but I'll say that it really does feel faster. While the phones "0-60" time might not have improved in the techincal sense, its amazing now much faster it feels. While this example is not exactly the same as installing SB, I can definitely relate to just feeling faster = improvement.

I have a feeling I will be trying out SB myself soon.

You've been straight up about what the product does and doesn't do. My post was not to dispute your claim nor the claim of the other member/users that the product enhances feel by increasing peddle responsiveness. The one claim I cry foul on was SpeedDriven's claim that eluded to the SB being the key missing component that differentiates the 300 HP SLK 350 engine from the 268 HP E 350 engine. I think that claim was misleading and therefore lacks credibility.

I acknowledge feel is enough to satisfy some, yet others only relate to numbers and measurable results. Neither approach is wrong, yet it leads me to ask one simple question, are there any 0-60 changes to the E 350 before and after Sprint Booster, all other factors being equal?

The problem with making such claims is the fact that there are so many variables at play. The method of testing, Modifications, tunes, intakes, exhausts. What we can say is there are numerous accounts of 0-60 gains that we hear about from our customers and media reviews. Sprint Booster's for Jeeps are a hot seller and it was after the TV spot on TruckU, sales jumped. And low and behold more and more customers found truth in what they saw and felt.

Here is the Truck you Spot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdafHRwAZeQ

Now to a MB owner, what does it mean. To most, not much. But it is along the lines of what you are asking.

The video is very consistent with the E55 thread findings I posted.

Why doesn't someone simply turn off their SB, accelerate from a dead stop to sixty with someone in car timing. Then do it again with SB on?? How hard is that.

To me, this thread is getting out of hand.... like i stated before, people who have it, love it. People who critisize it, never tried it. For 299, its a rather cheap mod. Give it a shot and let us know what you feel. S/B will return your money if you dont like it. Where can you go wrong???? If I were a non believer, instead of trying to disprove all the claims and how it works, that would be the route I would take. In my opinion, all MB cars should come with one... its how this car should be performing. And yes, before I get flamed for that comment, for those who haven't tried it, you will not understand what I mean...

I started this thread and have wanted to write this same thing 20 different times since the beginning, but felt it was just a waste of typing.

Nevertheless, the above post is spot on. Just try it and if you've negatively questioned the product openly, you will probably go back and try to erase your post for feeling like an idiot. It is every bit as good as the people who have actually tried it say it is.

Man, I should probably get a free one for what I've stirred up around here...hint hint Sprint Booster.

Are there any e550 owners who have successfully installed a sprint booster? I don't believe that any have posted on this thread. Why is that? I would think that the bigger engine crowd would have every interest in getting "faster". Thanks. Ned.

Brian did you ever try the 0-60 test?

Jack haven't tried it yet, was hoping someone else share their success!

Maybe because those with the E550 don't need something to trick them to make the car feel fast since it already is??

Sorry Rich, came home to 14 inches of snow. Used to never get that in Danville. Damn. I will try and find a good dry area (somewhere)...

I don't believe that. If this device gets rid of throttle lag, why wouldn't an e550 owner want a more responsive car? Regards. Ned.

Fast is relative. Is the 550 faster than a E63? No. So why wouldn't someone with a 550 want better throttle response with the bonus of "feeling faster". Improvement is improvement, be it in a Yugo or a Corvette.

A technical white paper on the Sprint Booster, it's all about feel!

I believe this will address most questions on what it does and doesn't do.

First of all...Ned, SprintBooster will make the E550 faster. I have posted in this thread before. I have been driving a G35 coupe with the first generation (It is always fully engaged) SprintBooster for three years. It will increase the shift speed of any drive by wire car. SprintBooster needs to get off their a** and fix the plug problem with the E550.

Now to MCF. You obviously have no idea how a drive by wire vehicle works or what throttle lag is. A 0-60 test is not a good test of a SprintBooster. In 0-60 The MB may shift one time. Thus reducing the 0-60 by the time saved in one shift. No, we are not talking seconds we are talking tenths of a second. A better test would be from 0-130. The speed increase (faster time) is cumulative over the shift range (number of shifts). In my G35 I have had very few chances to feel the 3rd-4th-5th shifts because the 3rd to 4th shift happens above 80 mph. The best way to test SprintBooster is spirited driving in the twisties using the paddle shifters or lever. This is when quick shifts, keeping the engine in the power range with minimal rpm drops is most important. In a car with manual transmission (I own a Miata also) this is accomplished with heel and toe shifting. For MCF this means your are slowing the car with in my case your toe on the brake while simultaineously blipping the throttle with your heel and downshifting. The object is to come out of the corner back on the throttle losing very little speed in the corner. Normally the throttle is blipped into the high rpm range so that you come off the corner at the same rpm you went into the corner and then stomp the throttle into the next curve. This is even fun to write...but much more fun in my Go Kart. Oops, I mean the Miata.

I own a sports car... do you not know what a Mazda Miata is? Do you actually think that people who pay for the E550 V8 are only interested in going fast in a straight line. I don't think so!!!
